Charles (Chad) Buechel is an accomplished executive with more than 20 years of experience supporting the Department of Defense (DOD) and Intelligence Community.
Chad currently serves as the Vice President and Division Manager for the Defense Enterprise IT Modernization (DEIM) Division within the Digital Modernization Sector at Leidos. DEIM is primarily comprised of the $11.5B Defense Enclave Services (DES) program. In this role, he is responsible for developing strategic business priorities, managing customer relationships, and delivering strong program performance for the 10-year DES contract with the Defense Information Systems Agency (DISA). He leads a team charged with the modernization and consolidation of common IT services and infrastructure into a single service provider (SSP) framework led by DISA, known as DODNet. The resilient and scalable DODNet supports 370,000 users within the DOD Fourth Estate, including Combat Support Agencies and Defense Agencies and Field Activities (DAFAs) worldwide, providing mission services focused on enhanced situational awareness, command and control (C2), Zero Trust readiness, intelligence sharing, and coordination of operations.
Prior to joining Leidos, he served as a DOD intelligence analyst providing all-source analytic support to national-level policymakers supporting the Global War on Terror (GWOT), counter proliferation, and other U.S. government priorities. He provided strategic and tactical intelligence to military commands ensuring coordination of missions during his deployments in support of combat operations in the Central Command Theater of Operations.
